SWIRLL is a core research facility that houses infrastructure and ATS/ESSC staff and students who are involved in research on severe and hazardous weather, lightning meteorology, radar meteorology, lightning physics, and air quality. SWIRLL was designed to promote research, education, and outreach in these areas of research. It was officially commissioned in March 2015.
